How to get to your stay
✈️ If you arrive in Kiruna by plane, you can take the airport bus to Kiruna City. Kiruna Airport is about 10 km from the house. Get off at the last bus stop OK-Parken – the ride takes around 25 minutes – and then walk about 4 minutes to the house. The timetable is adapted to, and therefore changes in relation to, departures and arrivals to and from Kiruna Airport. Ticket prices for 2025 are 110 SEK for adults, 55 SEK for youth (7–17), and free for children under 7. Tickets are bought directly on the bus with a credit card, and only single tickets are available.

Way from OK-Parken to our home at Kengisgatan 1:

🚖 If you want a quick and comfortable way to reach the house, you can either order an UBER or take a TAXI from Kiruna Airport or the train station in Kiruna City. From the airport, the ride takes about 12 minutes and costs around 400 SEK for 2 or 3 persons, while from the train station it takes about 4 minutes.

🚉 If you arrive in Kiruna by train, you can take the transfer bus from the railway station upon the train's arrival. The train station is about 2,5 km from the house. The bus departure time is adjusted to the train's arrival time, and the bus leaves once all passengers have boarded. If the train is delayed, the bus might not always wait at the station. The transfer bus is free of charge. Get off at the OK-Parken stop and then walk about 4 minutes to the house.
Supermarket
There is a grocery store called Coop on Lappgatan 15, about a 9-minute walk from the house.

If you become ill or injured and need help, first call 1177. You will speak with experienced nurses who can give you advice and tell you where to go.
If you have a serious or life-threatening illness or injury, call 112 immediately.
1177 is open 24 hours a day by phone and online at 1177.se. They can give you advice and connect you with the nearest on-call clinic if needed.
You can take the local bus that stops at "Sjukhuset" (the Hospital). Bus lines that go past the hospital include the purple line and the yellow/green line.

Local Buses
Kiruna has a small but reliable local bus network that can help you get around the town easily. You can buy tickets on the bus (cash or card) or use the Länstrafiken Norrbotten app for digital tickets.
Bus routes (Autumn 2025 – Spring 2026):
- Red line: Tuolluvaara – City square (Stadshustorget) – Lastvägen – Radarn – Lombolo Backe – Coop – Jägaregatan – Parish hall – Sports hall – Adolf Hedinsvägen – LKAB.
- Purple line: Raketen – Solvinden – Planetvägen – City square – Hagelstigen – Kvantum – Hospital – Sports hall – Norrmalm – Porfyren – back the same way to Raketen.
⚠️ This line does not stop at Lombolo Backe or Coop → faster travel.
Special morning trip: Hagelstigen – City square – Planetvägen – Signalen – Lombolo Backe – Coop – Hospital – Sports hall – Norrmalm – Porfyren – LKAB. - Green line (weekends): Tuolluvaara – City square – Lastvägen – Signalen – Solvinden – Lombolo Strand – Lombolo Backe – Coop – Hospital – Sports hall – Norrmalm – Porfyren – and back the same way.

In Kiruna, you will find both everyday stores and unique shops with local products. The new city centre (Kiruna C) is located about 3,8 km from home and is the main shopping area, with cafés, boutiques, and national chains. It is a nice place to walk around and explore.
There are several shopping options. Some shops are located in the new city centre (Kiruna C), while others are spread across different parts of the town.
If you are looking for souvenirs and local delicacies, Hedla AB and Thornéus Renprodukter are great choices. They sell reindeer products, cloudberry jam, cheese, chocolate, and traditional handicrafts.
For clothing and outdoor gear, you can visit Centrum JW Lindgren, a historic clothing shop, or Vildmarkshörnan, which specializes in equipment for hiking, winter activities, and fishing.
You can also find small gift shops like Northern Lights Shop, where you will find souvenirs and local crafts.
